Quincy Preserves Plaquing Program
The Quincy Preserves Plaquing program was restarted in 2001 after having been inactive since 1996. Started in the early 1970s, the program had plaqued over 100 residences, churches and other structures in Quincy.
The Plaquing Committee considers the nominated houses and buildings then gives their recommendations to the Quincy Preserves, which then chooses the most historically significant structures to receive plaques. The bronze, 10x7 inch plaques are then awarded to the owners of the structures at our annual meeting at the beginning of the year.
The Plaquing Committee will begin considering structures in Quincy and Adams County for plaquing in the fall. Those chosen will be awarded at the March annual meeting. We need a few energetic new members for the committee, so please volunteer if interested. Also, we are always interested in suggestions of buildings/homes/structures worthy of being plaqued.
