豪州Northern territory準州の州都、Darwin。熱帯地方に位置し、東南アジアの影響を強く受けた街である。２００６年から３年間、この地で鳥類の野外調査をおこない、温帯地方では”存在しない”と考えられていた新奇な行動を発見した。

I have researched about the Little Bronze-Cuckoo and their hosts, the Large billed Gerygone and the Mangrove Gerygone in Darwin, Australia for 3 years (2006-2008). I found the newfangle behaviour.

ニュージーランド南島の海沿いの街、Kaikoura。南極に近い、ニュージーランドの海には、シャチの群れやアザラシ、ペンギンなどを見る事ができる。２００９年、この地で鳥類の研究をおこなったが、期待していた”新奇な行動”を発見する事ができなかった。温帯地方では、その行動が進化しないのだろうか。

I have studied about the Shining Bronze-Cuckoo and their hosts, the Grey Gerygone in Kaikoura, NZ in 2009. I have never found the behaviour.

そして２０１１年、自分の仮説を検証するため、メラネシアに浮かぶ島、ILE GRANDE TERRE島へと向かう。ほとんど誰も研究していない鳥類が、いったいどのような行動をするのだろうか。
