All School Summer Reading:

This summer Mayfield Senior School students, faculty and staff all will read Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. The recommended paperback is twentieth anniversary edition by HarperCollins Publishers that includes useful discussion questions and an insightful interview with the author. The ISBN number:  0061122416.  The novel will serve as the foundation for discussion in a number of different settings in the fall.

Publishers Weekly described this global best seller as a story that has "…the comic charm, dramatic tension and psychological intensity of a fairy tale, but it's full of specific wisdom as well about becoming self-empowered, overcoming depression, and believing in dreams."
