ALTERNATIVE PATH

Second part

In short, I consider that as an artist I have entered into a new media that will allow me to reach

a wider and more diverse playing field.  I know that with my eagerness of investigation and the combination of all my abilities this will be a spectacular era with many of us artist.

I do not rule out the possibility to learn more of animation, video and all that that can be expressed with an infinite number of hours of interesting work.

I have not been mandated by galleries or modernist movements to condition my new direction and artistic venues.  These are not alien concepts just a new form of my expression.

In 33 years of uninterrupted work, I have exposed my art in very diverse spaces, and my social commitment as an artist are not centralized in main stream galleries only, but I have allowed my work to reflect and be criticized by the average “Joe” .

My work can be read in multiple ways and can understand by many, therefore does not possess

a complicated neither elitist meaning.

I agree that artistic expression in any ability or profession or specialty, is the labor of quality constancy, and coherence in the speech toward the environment and toward oneself.

Imaginary Digital Action Art

Viesca Coahuila.

The Action Art SHIPWRECK OF SALT was carried finally on the tip of the salt mine of Viesca on March 28, 2008 with the contribution and sponsorship of the ICOCULT Coahuila and the initiative of the Workshop of engraving The Chanate of Miguel Canseco.

To the action in the desert of Viesca was attended by more than 700 people.

Shipwreck of salt was a type action art, an art alternative, that belongs to the field of the visual

arts and the performance logic, was a short action in a space where they intervened the elements of nature, and the spectators became part of the art, therefore upon threatening a climate of rain and extreme wind, the action not was carried out but added to the unknown finished product.

The tensions  of the unknown gave an air of uncertainty to the assistants and the authors of this type of action.

Nevertheless the fact that we all met and observed this special landscape, in this case the Salt mine of Viesca with its surreal environment, it already was moving enough and contributed us the participates to feel and see not only the action but caused us to feel many things that are not felt on a daily basis.

A paper ship in the middle of the salt, yielded homage to the workers of a factory that was discarded overnight, that has been left to suffer the hand of the elements and that paralyzes it each day, showing us how the elements and the oversight will destroy what was once a place

full of vigor, productivity and a source of important and work for the settlers of the region.

The art  action showed how devastating the elements are and how fragile we are, just like the

ship anchored on the residues of salt, the ephemeral of our existence.

Allowed us a collective contemplation and gave us a fleeting look toward our inner being.  Gave us conscience as a consequence of the observation of how deterioration, corrosion and oversight can destroy us all.
