StitchBuddy

Embroidery on Macs

Most owners of embroidery machines are facing the same problem: Their number of embroidery files grows rapidly and becomes more and more difficult to organize:

  1. embroidery designs can not be previewed at the computer to copy, sort or select files

  2. designs can not be searched by their meta data like number of stitches, number of colors or their size

  3. it is not possible to modify, print or convert designs

StitchBuddy is the hobby-oriented solution for Apple Macintosh users. It consists of three parts, serving different needs in perfect harmony:

  1. StitchBuddy is a stand-alone shareware application to modify embroidery designs: you can rotate, flip and convert embroideries, print and copy them as a graphic. It is possible to save designs and convert them between the different file formats.

  2. StitchBuddy-QL is a free QuickLook plugin to preview embroidery design in Mac OS X Finder and other QuickLook enabled applications.

  3. StitchBuddy-MD is a free Spotlight-Plugin to search for embroidery designs based on their meta data.

All components share the same framework to ensure consistent support of new file formats, enhanced functions or error corrections. Furthermore all programs are localized, currently in German and English.

The following file formats are supported:

  1. Janome JEF (read / write)

  2. Janome SEW (read)

  3. Brother / Babylock / Bernina PES (read)

  4. Melco EXP (read / write)

  5. Tajima DST (read / write)

  6. Husqvarna Viking / Pfaff VP3 (read)

More information about the components, their functions, installation and terms of use can be found on their dedicated product pages..
