Cape Town video podcast

A beautiful morning to arrive in Cape Town - clear skies and a magnificent view as we sailed in at sunrise.  Nine days crossing the South Atlantic to arrive in Africa, with several days highlighted by Archbishop Desmond Tutu leading discussions at our Global Studies course.  And last night, as you will see in the video podcast, the Archbishop went above and beyond what any of us expected - enjoy the show.

The video podcast is about 40 MB - be patient - it will be worth the wait!

Lyrics below:

Cape Town Pre-Port Song
(the the tune of “Don’t Worry Be Happy)

Break

Here’s a little song we wrote
You might want to listen note for note
To stay healthy
Stay happy

Break

Cape Town proper is an area,
Where diarrhea needn’t scare ya
Don’t worry
Eat anything

But in a township on a tour (pronounced tore)
The food can make your stomach sore
Stay healthy
Use Pepto

Alcohol can bring you trouble
Sober friends can save you double
Stay healthy
Drink safely

Break

Adventure sports they here abound
Sky diving, bungy, sharks around
Stay healthy
Use judgment

See freshwater you want to wade in
May lead to larvae through your skin
Stay healthy
Don’t try it

On Safari there’s malaria
Mosquitoes carry throughout the area
Please worry
Use DEET

Break

Out in the country dogs may roam
Rabies one thing they bring home
Stay healthy
No petting

On safari in big game area
See the lions they don’t scare ya
Stay healthy
Still no petting

Now petting lovers makes one frisky
STDs here very risky
Stay healthy
Use condoms

Break

If you follow this advice
Your trip is sure to turn out nice
Don’t worry
Be Happy
