The Jungle Call - $25
The Jungle call really gets people laughing and sells so well it is hard to make them fast enough

“Kids and adults are amazed by the many realistic animal sounds this call can produce. I make each call out of imported Asian bamboo." Matt

The reed in the center is a special flexible plastic that stretches when the bamboo is squeezed to raise the pitch. The call comes on a card that has playing instructions that are easy to learn.

"I can usually teach someone to play in a couple of minutes."

Jungle Calls
  1. How to Play
  2. To make sounds place the call between your teeth and blow through gap in bamboo. Blow just air no spit.
  3.
  4. Keep your lips down against bamboo to force all air into gap.  Try to make a “Ha,Ha,Ha” sound without using your vocal cords.
  5.
  6. Use fingers and teeth to squeeze bamboo.  Squeezing makes the pitch go higher.
Seagull
Blow light raspy sounds through the corner (near tied end) of call.  Increase intensity to get the pitch to jump like the seagulls voice.
Quail
Squeeze call halfway closed  with fingers or teeth and hold it there.  Mouth the words “Cha-Key-Ta” without vocalizing the sounds.  Push sounds out with chest air.
Monkey
Begin with blowing and sucking air through call with panting breaths.
Increase the speed of panting while slowly squeezing call to raise the pitch.
End with three high pitched blasts of air through the call.
Dog
(obnoxious small dog)
Begin by growling (sound of a throaty gargle).  Exhale air while gargle growling.
Bark sounds are made by punctuating growl sound with loud intense blasts of air.
Mosquito
With thumb and index finger squeeze call completely closed at the center.  Now blow with a long continuous “Ha” breath.
Varying the intensity of the breath will make the mosquito sound like it is flying circles around you.
Crow
Cup your hands around the call like a harmonica player.
Produce a throaty gargle while saying “Caaahhh, Caaahh”.
Duck
Make “Ha  -  Ha  -  Ha” sound with a light breathy exhale.  Make sure not to pinch call at all,  it should be wide open.
Other Sounds to try.

Trill Tongue
A great sound is trilling your tongue like the /rr/ is pronounced in Spanish.
Combine this with various calls.

Make up your own sounds
*Truck backing up - Medium high pitched even tones.
*Talk through call - “Hello, how are you?”

Try not to spit while blowing!

Troubleshooting: If call gets real wet to the point of not playing it is easy to fix.  The plastic reed can get temporarily stuck to the bamboo.  This will not hurt the call.  Blow air hard from side near the tied end toward the middle.   This will bring the reed back to the center of the call.
Kookaburra
Quick staccato coughing breaths while producing the “ooh - ooh - aahh - aahh” sound.
