While walking home.......

from the local shop this evening after buying some milk. I walked past a flat with a polish satellite service. It occurred to me - Is technology stopping us integrate with each other? Back when Merthyr was the world capital of iron it had immigrants from all over the world. Yes there was tension but these people had cut there links with their home lands. Generally their only form of contact with home was via a letter (if they could write). So they had to learn the local  language and within a generation they were simply part of the local fabric. Their customs had been integrated with others to produce the next step in the communities evolution. So with the internet and global TV do the new communities have less reason to integrate their culture with those around. I know I would.
Technology is wonderful it offers so much for us to connect with each other, we also need to be mindful that it can also be a barrier to us.
Does technology block racial integration?
