Welcome! I am an Instructor at the Philosophy Departments of St. Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis. From Fall 2007 to Spring 2009 I was a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at SLU. Before this, I was an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department of Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.


I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Syracuse University in December of 2005.


My main research interests are in metaphysics, especially the following subject areas:

  1. Bullet material constitution

  2. Bullet stuff ontology

  3. Bullet mereology and composition

  4. Bullet analytic process ontology

  5. Bullet The metaphysical implications, if any, of the differences between count- and mass-terms, and progressive vs. perfective verb aspect.


My teaching interests (besides metaphysics) are in Ethics, Ancient Philosophy, Early Modern Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and Epistemology.
