I hate the first day of camp!

Ok, I admit it. I hate the first day of camp.  Its the day that you find out all the things that you forgot or that got lost in translation gets discovered.  For instance when you find out that the hotel only planned for 200 meals every night instead of 240 people.  So we were short everything from food to seats and table. Or when the go-carting place you want to take the kids to has a race scheduled over your time for kids to come.
Or when you realize each of the teams for the retreat has completed their portion of the camp, but they have not communicated with one another how things will be executed.

Why is do we only have sound out of the monitors and not out of the main speakers? Ooh shoot the main amp for the speakers is broken, where are the bolts for the rear projection screen?   The baby pool got left, what are we going to use for the 20 gallons of root beer.

Anyhow you get the point, we survive and pray through the first day.  The kids really don’t know the difference but it stresses me out.  God just uses these thing to remind me how much I need him to make the retreat work.  He surely answered all of our needs and moved in kids hearts.
