I suppose if you have wafers, you need a wafer baker. So here they are. Wafers require permanently drained life (card points) to be imbued with magic. Wealthy adventurers, necros and others buy the wafers and some of that gold trickles down to the peasants, out of work warriors, baker apprentices and others who give of their lives to make these bits of magic.
I made the cast card because it would not be practical for characters to carry ovens and a string of peasants to be able to make wafers, yet someone needs to make the wafers. In some areas this would be a way of survival for the poorest creatures. The life giving is voluntary.
