How do you obtain your news?

Gary’s comment on my Katie Couric post was interesting in that it made me ask how I get my news? We all admit - whether we’ve thought about it or not - that the 6:30p Evening News isn’t the gathering spot it was a generation ago. Is there such a place?

I think most of my news comes from podcasts. Each morning or afternoon, just before going for a walk or setting out on one of my 5-hour drives to meet with someone, I load up the iPod with 3-4 reports from Lehrer’s NewsHour, NPR’s various news stories, and for a humor break, The Onion Radio News.

On Monday, there’s one or more segments from Sunday’s 60 Minutes, the full 45 minutes from Meet The Press, and a spoof of the President’s Weekly Radio Address.

I download them all from the iTunes Music Store, they’re all free, and if I miss a day or two, I feel a little behind.

Each morning the Times sends an email with three stories from each of the online paper’s major sections, and throughout the day at work, wherever I am, I’ll check in on the Web for news. I also receive News Alerts! from the New York Times and the Wall St. Journal, with direct links to their web sites.

We receive TIME, BusinessWeek and Sports Illustrated - the magazines - every week, which gives me a chance to review what’s happened and pull in a little more background on news, business and sports. And because of my business interests, I receive, of course, Golfweek and Golf World, neither of which is as timely in their arrival as the first three in this paragraph.

So that’s how my news delivery channel gets filled. How about yours?
