The Story Of America’s Flagship

Big Ship Films, LLC, in cooperation with WTTW National Productions, is proud to present a new one hour documentary about the greatest ocean liner ever built: the SS United States.  Shot in high-definition and featuring previously unseen archival footage, Lady In Waiting tells the story of America’s only superliner -- past, present, and future.  We are pleased to have the cooperation of the SS United States Conservancy, who have given us exclusive access to their audio-visual archives, as well as assisted with coordinating extensive interviews with former crew and passengers.  The film is in post production now, and is slated for a Spring 2008 release through WTTW at which time it will be broadcast on public television stations throughout the country.  After its public television debut, the program will be distributed internationally.  An expanded version is also planned for release on DVD, along with many exciting extras.  Please come aboard to read about the people making this important film, and to see a short preview. Our website is still under construction, so check back for updates.
