I quite often get asked by clients about equipment now, which is something that used to happen infrequently. I began a year or two ago by just listing the equipment I have chosen to use for my particular job which is wedding and portrait photography. Due to the interest, I thought I would just write a few words or mini-review about each piece and explain how I find working with it in the job I do. These ‘thoughts’ as I’ve called them can be of general use as it will apply in general a lot of times, but remember that I am writing from the perspective of working with them in my job so it may be of more use to you if you are interested in portraits for example. The exception to this is the words I have written about the Sigma 150mm EX lens, as that is a lens I never take with me to a wedding and have never used in a portrait setting, although it could certainly be used for such. I very much enjoy taking macro shots, but that is something I do in my spare time as I enjoy it and not something I do in the course of work. If you have any comments, please free to write to me at the link below and my contact details are available on the Dickson Photography home-page if you are interested in hiring me for your wedding or to have some portraits taken. I hope you find some of this of some use..
