Version 1.1.1
2007-05-31
FlipFlop is a simple, free Mac OS X application designed to assist filmmakers with onset monitoring using a laptop and a firewire connected camera. The features came mostly from reading many peoples requests on various forums
Initially the basic app was aimed at a live video rotate to correct the inherent upside down, back-to-front image created by many 35 mm adapters. From here it grew to include a few other features which seem to be relevant to the workflow.
Unfortunately there are no record features, this is purely a live preview application. DV25 and DV50 work the best as they are the least CPU intensive. The DVCPro HD inputs are very CPU intensive. As I’m PAL based I’ve not fully tested the NTSC based presets.
You will need Final Cut Pro 6 and above installed for all other codecs except standard DV.
