aspects of treatment

Samuel Hahnemann was a physician who became disenchanted with the practice of treating disease with medications that caused as much harm as good. He started experimenting to discover the smallest effective dose - the dose that would destroy the disease without harming the patient.

At a certain point he found that if he reduced the material content in the medicine, while potentising its essential nature, he could annihilate disease with no deleterious effects.

The resulting practice, Homeopathy, is the use of infinitesimally dilute substances to annihilate the source of disease. Historically, remedies were made of natural substances. Today we can also prepare remedies from man-made materials to counteract the deleterious effects of environmental toxins and pharmaceutical products, including vaccines and other medications.

Homeopathic medicines are applied at several levels of treatment. They are applied homogenically in first aid - a contusion always needs Arnica, and a bee sting will benefit from Apis. They can minimise ill-effects of pharmaceutical medication, as well as pain and complications from medical procedures and tests.

They can be applied as homo-prophylaxis - to prevent natural childhood diseases, protect during epidemics, reduce travel risks, mitigate jet lag, and prevent sports exhaustion.

In sequential therapy, remedies are applied to eradicate the lingering effects of damaging events. These include emotional and physical effects, that often in resulted in chronic conditions.

Flare-ups of miasms are treated as they occur, as is any acute disease. Chronic miasms are treated with remedies when the sequence of the traumatic timeline is complete.

Remedies are safe for animals, children and pregnant women, and do not interact with conventional medicines. They work on the many levels of the person in a gentle, deliberate manner.

You may be given remedies in the form of powders, granules or drops, depending on the application. Remedies have a very long shelf life, and have been proven effective years after manufacture.

The medicines are clinically tested on volunteers and the results of the studies are published in legally recognized compendiums called materia medicas (Latin for medical substances) or pharmacopoeias (pharmaceutical indexes). Canada recognizes the three main homeopathic pharmacopoeias – those of the U.S.A., Germany and France. The manufacture of remedies is regulated by Health Canada and the U.S. Food and Drug Agency (USFDA).
