THE CAROLINA
ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCERS

You can dance with us now.
We have regular dances and classes, in modern dress-
English Country Dance is alive and flourishing in South Carolina. The Carolina English Country Dancers meet at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church, 2519 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, South Carolina at least twice a month to enjoy the fine art of moving to music. The pace varies from slow and elegant to lively and vigorous. The variety of dances and of people make this a very pleasant form of exercise. The church is about a mile east of the intersection of Route 14 and Woodruff Road. Please park towards the back. The entrance is at the covered portico. The building is air-conditioned and we’re very grateful for that!
We welcome new dancers. The dances are taught and called. You don’t need to bring a partner. Do bring comfortable shoes! An extra pair often helps if your feet begin to hurt.
What to wear? Something cool, it can get warm when you dance. Attendees wear relatively casual clothes to our regular dances. Flowing skirts can make you feel more graceful.
Classes- we often have beginners at our regular dances and we all continue to learn as the dances are taught at our regular dances but we can arrange special classes if that’s what you want.
Contact Margaret for details.

Question: Do you have photos or movies of the dance group that you will share? If so, please bring them, on a disk or a flash-drive, to a dance and upload them onto Margaret’s computer.
Informal Dances and More:
We meet for informal dances at the Fellowship Hall of our parent organization, Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church. For those bi-monthly dances we wear modern dress. We also have special events. For our balls we wear either formal attire or period clothing. We have special performances where we dress in 18th Century or dress from other historical periods and perform for the public and we also teach our traditional dances to the public.
Continuing a lovely tradition . . .
