Halo 3 Easter Eggs
6/11/07 | Marcus Ting (mting91)

This is a reference guide to the same topic on The Gamecrew Podcast Ep. 3

Here’s a cool little one. While in theater take a while to zoom into the back of a bullet. There are several things written on them. The one we’ll tell you about says Chief EG-X.

This one is small but funny. It happens when you flip the elephant. You know the giant vehicle thingy in the map sand-trap. We recommend having a lot of fusion coils under the elephant and a rocket launcher. Once you do, go over to it and try to flip it. Low and behold there will be a message after the 'hold RB' to flip message.

The highlight of our article, the freaky monkey people. During the first level, keep going until you reach the area where all the jackals are sniping you from trees. Stick to the left wall, until you get to the jutting rocks. Move on until you reach the last rock and turn left. You should see a family of them there. Be sure to say hi and kill them with a Battle Rifle.

This one is a little addition by the lovely guys at red vs. blue.
On the level Crow’s Nest (3rd level) where you are in the bunker, get you’re gear and head on forward. You’ll then see a warthog blow up, keep on trucking while pumping the little grunts full of lead until they bleed blue from the eyes. Keep on going here until you get to a dead end. Instead of turning left, turn right and you’ll see a guy knocking on the door. Keep watching as he tries to negotiate a way into the bunker. While his friend on the other side is reluctant to let him in. The dialogue also varies from different difficulty levels. So you might want to go there a few times just to see and hear them. It’s hilarious and you should definitely check it out.

This is another funny one that reveals Bungie’s sly sense of humour. In the level Halo, run along the wall until you get to the point where you can jump down into the flood infested area, turn right until you get a terminal and a forrunner statue to the right, you’ll also see a larger gap with a blue laser beam running across it. This strange dude is at the end of this corridor on a platform to the left. Perform a trusty grenade jump (for all of you guys that don’t know, throw a grenade at your feet and jump as soon as you do, time it right and it’ll propel you higher) onto the support beams ahead than jump onto the side platform and voila.

This one brings us to the end of our fun filled easter egg hunt. It’s a grunt who when you face him, he talks to you and says some pretty offensive things to you. Remember don’t kill him yet and listen to what he has to say, he might actually shine your shoes and your helmet....than you can pump the bastard full of led. Start a game in the Halo level of the campaign and set the spawn point to checkpoint alpha. Keep on riding your Warthog along the level as usual until Cortana says it’s 90% charged, when that happens you’ll know you’re close. Keep on moving but keep an eye out towards the right. Look out for a large grey rock. He’s just around there. Just remember if you decide to talk to him you won’t have enough time to finish the level so you’ll have to respawn from the last checkpoint.

There you go guys. That’s the end, remember to keep on looking for easter eggs as there are lots more that we know of. Who know we might post part two of this article :).
