A really fun doc about competitive grocery bagging...really. A little roots rock, country, and some groovin' fun music for a show about trying to be the best at what you do.
Runners High
Directed By Alex Da Silva and Justine Jacob
An empowering documentary dealing with Bay Area urban youth training for the LA Marathon. Rhythms made from running/shoe sounds complement authentic beats from the street.
Democracy, Afghan Style(fp)
PBS Independent Lens, Directed By Tamara Gould
Scored with the great Homayoun Satchi
Much like the documentary this was for, we used Western methods with an authentic Afghani ensemble and molded the music into a fitting score. This documentary was about Western involvement with Afghanistan’s ongoing struggle to develop into a Democracy.
Haiku Tunnel
Sony Pictures Classics, Directed by Jacob and Josh Kornbluth
A very interesting stylistic/thematic combination for this eclectic office comedy feature, basically Punk and Gamelan, relating to the main character Josh's interior and exterior worlds, and the magic that can be conjured out of the mundane.
The Self-Made Man
Directed by Susan Stern
A very personal documentary for the filmmaker, this show delves into one man's "right to life" and its impact on his family. The score had to support a very serious subject without feeling too somber.
Testosterone
Strand Releasing, Directed by David Moreton
In this dark comedic feature, an obsessed American pulp novel writer goes to Argentina in search of his jilted lover...what better than twisted rock tango?
The Nobel, Visions of Our Century

Double Dare
Directed By Amanda Micheli
A kick-ass girl power doc about two stuntwomen at different stages in their career.

action filled real life drama of two women literally trying to break through the glass ceiling.
They Drew Fire(fp)

A beautiful, almost reverent look at the lives of WWII field combat artists, the beauty of their work and the horror of their subjects.
Red Diaper Baby(fp)
The Sundance Channel, Directed by Doug Pray
This was a film of a live stage production about growing up as a Socialist Communist Jew in Manhattan. With piano and string quartet, I tired to bring a little bit of the Iron Curtain to the Big Apple.
