Our Mission
The mission of neXus Arts is to combine music with other art forms such as dance, poetry, and the visual arts, in order to create a synthesis which transcends the sum of its parts. The word “nexus” means “connection” as well as “focus” and “center,” to which our mandala-like logo alludes. Music is chosen which expresses something profound about the spiritual condition of humanity, but not to support any particular political or religious agenda. Our intention is to provide a new way of experiencing works of the past and present, as well as to commission and perform new works, including music dramas and operas. Most of our productions so far have centered around music, illuminated and made more interesting by combining it with other art forms. In keeping with our high standards of quality, the neXus Arts concerts are all performed by professional soloists, orchestra and chorus.

Current Project
Richard Olson and composer Brian Schober are collaborating on an opera based loosely on the form of the Japanese Noh drama. There are four main characters (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) and a chorus, which expresses the internal thoughts of the characters. The music and staging will hopefully seem not so much Japanese as timelessly contemporary.
