As a composer Malcolm has written music for theatre, television and numerous recordings, developing a highly distinctive yet accessible style as songwriter, contemporary composer and improviser.


Production work includes producer for Radio 7 for the band, The 3rd Degree (with Aaron Johnson, producer of Grammy-nominated The Fray), composer and producer for television advertisements and BBC documentaries, composer and performer for theatre, including The Librarians’ Joke (UK production and tour funded by Arts Council, England) and the European Storytelling Marathon for the British Council (2006 and 2007).


Education work includes commissioned composer for Music Start, a national resource for families with young children given to 100,000 families in the UK as part of the government’s Music Manifesto National Singing Programme, Sing Up; composer and film maker for an educational DVD for Mapledene Children’s Centre; a CD for a First Steps project in Somers Town, and music, movement and storytelling sessions across the UK.

Biography

Malcolm is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has worked internationally as a performer and recording artist alongside figures as diverse as Karl Jenkins, Eric Clapton, Ozzy Osbourne, and his father Jack Bruce.

Current projects are numerous, and include work on a forthcoming CD of original songs, more work for media, chamber and orchestral composition, and the continuation of work on an opera project entitled Boy, in collaboration with award-winning playwright Peter Wolf.
