RESEARCH. Our lab explores speciation, extinctions, ecology, paleobiology, systematics and conservation of various groups of organisms; of frogs, fish and small mammals. We do a lot of field based studies and lab-studies depending on the question, to generate molecular, ecological and morphological data. At every opportunity, we highlight the conservation relevance of the evolutionary and ecological analyses that we do so that this information can then be used in conservation and restoration efforts of the lineages under issue. Our lab stresses the importance of working on a firm systematics platform, and use molecular, morphological and ecological data in determining the higher level and lower level systematic relationships of the groups that we study.
