Welcome to Kim MacMillan’s Web Site

Who Am I?

I am (was) a presbytery based Conference Minister with the BC Conference of the United Church of Canada.

I served primarily the two Presbyteries that make up the Southern Interior of BC, namely, Kootenay Presbytery and Kamloops Okanagan Presbytery. For a more detailed idea of what I did, you can read my no- longer-current job description.  (It turns out they’re replacing me with two people.)

At heart, my job was to work toward healthy, faithful and vital congregations and presbyteries.  This site is primarily a collection of resources that I hope will help to achieve those aims. Clicking on one of the links to the left will take you to another page containing a list of resources.  Some are pages to view, some are documents to download, and some are links to other sites.

BC Conference has adopted a three part mission statement which guided my work.  You can find out more about that here. The same document contains other policies of the Conference.

Some of the files on this site are in Portable Document Format (PDF).  You can view PDF documents in almost any Web browser. All you need is the Adobe Reader plug-in. All PDF documents on this website require Adobe Reader version 5 or later, however I highly recommend updating to the most recent version available . The reader, a free application distributed by Adobe Systems, can be downloaded from www.adobe.com* for Windows, Mac, or Linux.

A friend tells me that for Windows, he prefers another free program called Foxit Reader.  It’s much smaller and faster than Adobe Reader.  Mac users can use Preview, which comes with all Macs.

Some of the files are in Rich Text Format (RTF).  When you click on them they will normally be downloaded to your hard drive, usually onto your desktop or into a downloads folder. You should be able to open them from within any word processing program.

Other files will be in the format in which they were first created.  For example, there are a number of Power Point presentations.  You will not be able to open or read them normally unless you have a copy of Microsoft Power Point or Apple Keynote installed on your computer.

Kim Has Retired

  1. My last day was June 20th.  My position has since then been split in two.  Rev Ivy Thomas has been appointed to serve KO Presbytery 3/4 time starting July 1st/09.  Rev. George Meier has been appointed half time to Kootenay Presbytery starting April 1st.   I am leaving this site in place for the time being but won’t generally be updating it. You can also check out the sites for Kootenay Presbytery and Kamloops Okanagan Presbytery.

Who Do You Call Now?
