The First Ten Years Series
On the cusp of the 21st Century, Booker T. Washington Public Charter School for Technical Arts opened its doors with a vision, mission and plan to prepare high school students and adults for jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities in the construction industry. With a focus also on academics, the school created a balance to ensure Booker T. graduates admission to college, as well as entrance into pre-apprentice programs in the trades. Now ten years later, this vision has become a reality and tells its own multimedia story on You Tube and btwschool.org.
The First Ten Years Series begins with the movie, “Our Secret to Success”, a five part program remembering the School Year 2001-2002. Also, you will see Booker T. students in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, where they spent ten days in August 2001 and 2002 for a Native American cultural experience many miles away from home.
