Timeline So Far
-October 29, 2007 mailed off preliminary applications
-October 31, 2007
mailed off official applications
- November 5, 2007
home study began
- November 29, 2007
home study was mailed to USCIS, started to wait for I-171 to come
-December 21, 2007
received I-171 in the mail
-December 26, 2007
drove to Frankfort, got everything finished, and mailed the dossier to Assistant Stork in D.C. !
-January 16, 2008
AAI received our dossier and mailed to Ethiopia :) Big Day!
-January 21, 2008
Alemu (our AAI contact in Ethiopia) confirmed receiving our dossier, and the 2-5 month wait for a referral began
-March 11, 2008
Found out we are 6th in line for a baby girl referral
-June 3, 2008
We are 5th in line for a baby girl referral!
-October 25, 2008
We are 1st in line for a baby girl referral.
-December 2, 2008 THE day!!! Our referral day!
-Court Date set for February 25th!
-Failed 1st court date, 2/25. New one set for 3/17!!
-Were told wrong. Our day isn’t 3/17, but hopefully 3/27!
-March 27th, 2009-It’s official! We passed court today! Yemi, we’re comin’!!!
-April 1st, 2009-
received travel dates of May 2-9. Our embassy appointment is May 7th. YAY!
-April 3-6th: Crazy and wonderful change of plans. We are now leaving April 18th and coming home April 25th with YEMI!
-April 21st: GOTCHA DAY!!!
-April 25th: Finally Forever Family Day!
