Mamady Keita, Famoudou Konate, M’Bemba Bangoura to name just a few are masters of the djembe currently spreading the music of West Africa throughout Europe, North America and beyond. Those who have departed this world such as Mohamed Kemoko Sano (experts and trail-blazers in promulgating the culture of the peoples of Mali, Senegal, Guinea) have left a lot for us to discover and ultimately emulate.
