Catharnach (pronounced Car-nock) is old Irish for Kearney.

After years of being involved with hunting and working breeds, we have fallen in love with this beautiful terrier from Ireland. Their charming, funny temperaments; shimmering, silky coats; and perfect size make them wonderful companions. They were originally developed centuries ago by poor Irish farmers to protect the homestead, help herding cattle, keep the barnyard free of vermin, and snuggle quietly by the fire at night. They are devoted to their families and are great pals.

We are dedicated to preserving the original Irish type, which is quickly disappearing.
