I am enthusiastic about teaching music skills to young children including my own child. I have taught piano professionally since 1997 and hold three music degrees: a B.A. from Colorado State University, a B.M. from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and a M.Mus. (piano performance and pedagogy) from University of Colorado at Boulder. I am part-time faculty at Metropolitan State College where I teach class piano and music theory and have also taught at The Denver School of the Arts as the director of their piano studies program. In July of 2002, I received a grant to study in London, England with Lucinda Mackworth Young at the Music, Mind and Movement workshop. I perform locally in several collaborations with both instrumentalists and vocalists. I bring my love of music and wide range of experience to the classes I teach to preschool students.

Broadway Tots Classes
Broadway Music School’s Tots classes provide your child aged 3 to 5 years with a fun and educational approach to learning music through age appropriate classes.
Music is universal in all human societies, ancient and modern Every child has innate musical ability, a built-in sense of tone and rhythm, that when nurtured becomes a fundamental life skill. Countless studies have shown that many regions and both hemispheres of the brain are involved in the processing of music and that music performance enhances coordination, memory, concentration, socialization, communication, spacial reasoning and organization skills and creativity. Some researchers believe music instruction is actually necessary for the total development of the brain.
Our program teaches the basic music vocabulary and teaches basic skills - rhythm and pitch recognition, and coordinated movement. When these skills are nurtured at a young age, your child has the best possible foundation for any formal musical training they choose in the future.
