Each summer, a tiny cabin on remote Cooper Island Alaska is biologist George Divoky’s home. It is surrounded by a colony of seabirds that Divoky has been studying for 40 years. Our film journeys to this island in the least explored ocean on the planet, the Arctic and into the world of this charismatic explorer. We follow the compelling story of this man’s dedication and the unintended revelations that he discovers, undeniable evidence of catastrophic global warming.
Although ornithologist George Divoky set out to only study Arctic seabirds, his heroic pursuit of knowledge is unraveling the mysteries surrounding dramatic climate changes that are now gripping the entire region. Our backdrop is the frontline of global climate change and ironically the focus of the oil industry in their hunt for new deep water drilling locations.
The simple story of this one man, his Arctic outpost and the animals he studies, illustrate a chaotic future now facing the rest of North America as well as the entire planet.
The film is currently in production, with most of the field work complete and editing about to start. Please check back for updates on its release.
