Luke’s Frame Shop was founded in the basement of my house in 2007 while I managed two picture frame shops for over eight years. When I found the space on Belmont in 2008 it was time to graduate from employee to owner.
Since I manage the business and do all of the framing, every aspect of the shop is under my control, artistic sense, and technical scrutiny. I have some of the best custom framing prices in town, and offer plenty of frames and mats to choose from. I specialize in custom framing, canvas stretching, object mounting, stitch mounting, shadow boxes, and conservation techniques.
I received a degree in Art from Portland State University in 1999 and have studied art extensively in Italy. Being a working artist in all mediums contributes immensely to the design, presentation, and preservation of my customers’ art.
Most of our wall space is dedicated to guest artists. We have an art opening each month, on the first saturday from 6-9pm, and we encourage anyone to join us and congratulate our guest artist’s accomplishments.
In addition to the frame shop, I am also a co-owner of the 12x16 gallery. Conceived in a small space on Division Street in 2005, the gallery has enjoyed continued success and has grown into a larger space in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland.
