The Present Future   In this provocative book, author, consultant, and church leadership developer Reggie McNeal debunks old assumptions and provides an overall strategy to help church leaders move forward in an entirely different and much more effective way. In The Present Future, McNeal identifies the six most important realities that church leaders must address including: recapturing the spirit of Christianity and replacing "church growth" with a wider vision of kingdom growth; developing disciples instead of church members; fostering the rise of a new apostolic leadership; focusing on spiritual formation rather than church programs; and shift, from prediction and planning to preparation for the challenges in an uncertain world. McNeal contends that by changing the questions church leaders ask themselves about their congregations and their plans, they can frame the core issues and approach the future with new eyes, new purpose, and new ideas.

Revolution     World renowned pollster George Barna has the numbers, and they indicate a revolution is already taking place within the Church; one that will impact every believer in America. Committed, born again Christians are exiting the established church in massive numbers. Why are they leaving? Where are they going? And what does this mean for the future of the Church? Using years' worth of research data, and adhering to an unwavering biblical perspective, Barna predicts how this revolution will impact the organized church, how Christ's body of believers should react, and how individuals who are considering leaving (or those who have already left) can respond. For leaders working for positive change in the church and for believers struggling to find a spiritual community and worship experience that resonates, Revolution is here. Are you ready?

How to Study the Bible   In the Introduction, Nee writes: "Many of [the books published on the study of the Bible] are very good, but almost all are short in one matter--they only pay attention to methods of studying the Bible; they do not pay enough attention to the person who is studying the Bible. They give the impression that anyone who uses these methods will achieve good results...Those who have written books on the study of the Scripture have studied the Scripture well, but those who try to imitate them by approaching the Bible with the same methods do not necessarily fare as well. The study of the Bible is not only a matter of methods but a matter of the person. Some study the Bible well because they--the persons--have learned the proper lessons from God. When they find the right methods to assist in their study, they reap rich results. It is wrong to pass on methods without considering the kind of person one has to be. Even when some have the right methods, they can never study the Bible well because they are wrong in their very person."

Teaching Kids Authentic Worship   presents a refreshing return to the basic principles of what worship means. Kathleen Chapman not only provides a meaningful presentation of corporate and individual worship, but provides it in the deft context of raising children. This is not a book about styles of worship, or styles of music. Kathleen provides principles of worship which can be applied in every context, in every style, in every generation. She demonstrates the applicable relevance of her approach with countless examples she draws from her years of experience. What Kathleen presents as authentic worship is a solidly focused time of considering and appreciating who God is.

Sit, Walk Stand    The more you read the more information you attain. Watchmen Nee does and excellent job defining the threefold division of Ephesians. He emphasizes that first we must sit and find out just where we are with Christ. Next he explains that we must then walk with the integrity of our Lord. Finally Mr. Nee discusses the importance of standing your ground against the wiles of Satan. This book is a must have; It's easy to read, pocket-sized and it abounds with spiritual treasures essential to your relationship with Christ.

Love And Do What You Want: A pathway of spiritual honesty   provides the foundation for the postmodern seeker or believer of Christianity, upon which they can build a faith that is informed, sincere, morally responsible, and spiritually meaningful. It beckons the reader to know God—not on the basis of convincing theological arguments, but rather, by looking at who God is. From God flows all things; and in getting to know Him, we also get to know and get to be ourselves in ways we would have never dreamed possible.  You can get the

The Gospel According to Moses    Athol Dickson has a way with words and questions that within a few pages of this book will leave you speechless. He knows how to get to the heart of issues that have been argued and avoided by Christians for centuries. From the beginning Dickson is honest with the reader. He also clarifies that this text is written from a Christian perspective, and tackles subjects and gives perspectives that are hotly debated in both Christian and Jewish camps. The author also admits that this text has been read and reread to avoid any misrepresentation of the Jewish culture, and that he in no way is trying to proselytize.

In reality, this book does three things: it brings to life the culture and perspective of Jews of Christians and Jesus, it creates links from the Old testament to New testament (from the Ancient Jewish faith to the "New Covenant" - Christianity), and it unpacks some of the most difficult questions Christians never ask, because they may be afraid of the answers. What is so wonderful about this author is that the amount of time and knowledge is evident. Great care and detail have gone into each explanation, yet the narrative is such that you feel like you are on a journey with him as he engages with people at Chever Torah.

A word of caution. This book is not a light read; it certainly is no Max Lucado for the soul. If you are not prepared to have your mind stretched, about half way through your eyes will not keep up with your brain. Athol will unreservedly question, unashamedly challenge, and tactfully answer some wonderful and difficult to understand topics. Read cautiously, and with an open heart and mind. If you are like me, in the end you will see more things that need adjusted than you previously thought.

Quenching the Spirit   DeArteaga quite capably states that the burden of proof lies with the opponents of the charismata to prove that the gifts are no longer active. In Quenching The Spirit, the author makes the case that charismatic critics have yielded to the spirit of the Pharisees time and time again throughout church history, repeatedly denying, allegorizing or explaining away tons of Scriptures as well as ignoring various historical outbreaks of revival simply because they could not control living stones!

Prophets and Personal Prophesy  Dr. Hamon has saved countless hours of pain and heartache by sharing his prophetic experiences and lessons with us in this book. Prophecy and the Office of Prophet are essential to the success and the growth of the Body of Christ. Dr. Hamon has removed the mystery surrounding this office and gift.

Prophets Pitfalls and Principals  A must read for all Christian leaders, this book helps those who are moving in the prophetic to recognize their hidden “root” problems, detect and correct character flaws and “weed seed” attitudes, prove true and false prophetic ministry with the 10 M’s, while explaining what has happened since the prophetic movement began.

The Prophetic Ministry  In this book, Rick Joyner answers questions concerning the gift of prophecy and the office of the Prophet. Some believe that prophecy and prophets exist in the church today. Others believe they do not. Joyner argues that both exist and must exist for the end times church to come to fruition. His argument is thought-provoking, provocative, logical and biblical. No matter which side of the question you believe, you are challenged to reserve judgement until you have read this book. It will stimulate you to ask questions and study the Word for the answers. This is a must read for anyone interested in the subject of prophecy.

The Forgotten Ways  Hirsch has nailed it. If you are even remotely focused on the future of Christianity, this is a must read. Digest it and allow it to inform your thinking on expanding the Kingdom. Hirsch has something to say for all of us who are intrigued with the concepts, practices and principles of rapidly expanding spiritual movements.

He starts the discussion by asking, "How did the NT church go from 25k to 20 million in 210 years?" Or, the contemporary example of the body of Christ in China going from 2 million to 80 million in about 60 years. What do these, and other phenomenal Jesus movements have in common? His findings are inspired, mind blowing, ancient and amazingly simple. During the journey he introduces us to terms like 'apostolic genius', 'mDNA', 'missional-incarnational impulse' and 'communitas' to showcase how these Jesus movements functioned with a unique energy and force that resulted in explosive influence. Hirsch puts words to our angst with every turn of the page.

A More Excellent Way   As a Christian, believing the Word of God is what it’s all about; and that includes being healed in body, soul, and spirit

Often there is a struggle achieving this goal, frustration sets in, and many simply give-up. Take heart, perhaps this work by Henry W. Wright will give you some insight into reasons why you have not achieved the health you know the Bible promises you.

Pastor Wright looks at disease from a spiritual perspective. What does that mean? He searches out the basis roots of disease and why it has been allowed to attack our bodies. He explains generational curses and how we can break the authority they have over us (even doctors ask what your parents, grandparents and so on died from.)

He has us take a close look at ourselves, our attitudes and explains how they can affect our health. Attitudes such as unforgiveness, self-hatred, and fear. I found this book to be very informative, both spiritually and in the natural realm. You will be surprised to see how our spiritual condition affects our physical well-being.

Healing through Deliverance: Volume 1 and Volume 2   Jesus' ministry included not only preaching and teaching, points out British Bible teacher Peter Horrobin, but fully one third of Christ's recorded healings involved deliverance. In a groundbreaking two-volume series, Horrobin urges believers to pay attention to this often-ignored dimension. Through in-depth Scripture teaching, he demonstrates persuasively that the charge Jesus gave his disciples to heal the sick and cast out demons was a vital part of the Great Commission for the whole church for all time.

Healing through Deliverance, Volume 1 lays out the biblical basis for the ministry of healing and deliverance. Horrobin analyzes in detail the ministry of Jesus and the early church, as recording in the gospels and Acts, and answers many difficult questions.

Healing through Deliverance, Volume 2 shows how people can be become affected by demonic powers and offers keys for bringing about healing through deliverance. Then Horrobin provides practical guidelines for building and conducting a healing and deliverance ministry through the local church and in ministry and counseling centers.

With these two works, believers will be equipped to respond to all of God's call-to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons.

The Three Battlegrounds   Francis Frangipane thoroughly explores spiritual warfare in three arenas: the mind, the church, and heavenly places. Although it is plainly written and easy to understand, this is meat, not milk.

This Spirit-led author guides the reader through a training course designed for the prayer warrior. Preparing your heart, examining yourself in the light of the Lord, equipping yourself for battle, entering the fray, and standing in victory in Jesus' name are all stunningly portrayed.

So, put on your armor of God, put on your reading glasses, and prepare for war...this book delivers the battle plans of the Captain of our salvation - Jesus Christ!

Pagan Christianity?    Have you ever wondered why we Christians do what we do for church every Sunday morning? Why do we "dress up" for church? Why does the pastor preach a sermon each week? Why do we have pews, steeples, choirs, and seminaries? This volume reveals the startling truth: most of what Christians do in present-day churches is not rooted in the New Testament, but in pagan culture and rituals developed long after the death of the apostles. Coauthors Frank Viola and George Barna support their thesis with compelling historical evidence in the first-ever book to document the full story of modern Christian church practices.

Pagan Christianity leads us on a fascinating tour through church history, revealing this startling and unsettling truth: Many cherished church traditions embraced today originated not out of the New Testament, but out of pagan practices. One of the most troubling outcomes has been the effect on average believers: turning them from living expressions of Christ’s glory and power to passive observers. If you want to see that trend reversed, turn to Pagan Christianity . . . a book that examines and challenges every aspect of our contemporary church experience.

Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage    In the long-awaited follow-up to her groundbreaking, million-copy bestseller The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, Dr. Laura now focuses on how men and women need to understand and appreciate the uniqueness of masculinity and femininity; what the best ways to relate, caretake, and nurture each other are; and how to bring a marriage back from the brink of disaster.

Dr. Laura asserts that in order to produce and sustain a wonderfully satisfying marriage, spouses must recognize and appreciate the polarity between the masculine and the feminine. Both husband and wife have power in the relationship, and each needs to realize this in order to ensure personal satisfaction. Using real-life examples from her call-in radio show, and giving real-life solutions, Dr. Laura focuses on the typical mistakes made by men and women in their relationships and shows how marriages can not only survive but thrive.

The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind   Moving in the spiritual realm should be as much a part of a believer’s routine as prayer, worship and reading Scripture. Yet all too often, Christians practice an intellectual faith, which lacks any supernatural punch. Healing, deliverance and signs and wonders are an inheritance for all followers of Jesus Christ. The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind teaches you how to remove the blinders of religious limitation to redeem the lost and transform communities. You too can tap into an abundance of miracle-working authority and unleash the power of God’s glory.

The Normal Christian Life   This classic work unfolds the path of faith and presents the eternal purpose of God in simple terms.

The Spiritual Man This book opens one’s eyes to a whole world of spiritual reality perhaps may not have been considered. Once the truths of the triune nature of man are discovered, you realize where your spiritual power comes from. You understand the mechanics of being tempted and what you must do to become an overcomer. You know what you must do in order to manifest in your outward walk the purity and grace that are communicated to your spirit from God. In short, the book teaches you how to have a victorious walk with God by showing you how your spiritual being operates.

Surprised by Hope  Wright, one of the greatest, and certainly most prolific, Bible scholars in the world, will touch a nerve with this book. What happens when we die? How should we think about heaven, hell, purgatory and eternal life? Wright critiques the views of heaven that have become regnant in Western culture, especially the assumption of the continuance of the soul after death in a sort of blissful non-bodily existence. This is simply not Christian teaching, Wright insists. The New Testament's clear witness is to the resurrection of the body, not the migration of the soul. And not right away, but only when Jesus returns in judgment and glory. The "paradise," the experience of being "with Christ" spoken of occasionally in the scriptures, is a period of waiting for this return. But Christian teaching of life after death should really be an emphasis on "life after life after death"-the resurrection of the body, which is also the ground for all faithful political action, as the last part of this book argues. Wright's prose is as accessible as it is learned-an increasingly rare combination. No one can doubt his erudition or the greatness of the churchmanship of the Anglican Bishop of Durham. One wonders, however, at the regular citation of his own previous work. And no other scholar can get away so cleanly with continuing to propagate the "hellenization thesis," by which the early church is eventually polluted by contaminating Greek philosophical influence.

The Open Church   James Rutz makes a passionate argument for "open worship" as a means of restoring biblical worship and to return the church to what it is suppose to be, a dynamic, worshipping and growing entity. He traces the current woes of the church back to the legalization of Christianity under the Roman Emperor Constantine. It was then, he reasons, that Christians became spectators as buildings were built and a professional clergy system arose. It is Rutz's premise that until the church restores open worship, the world will never be won to Christ nor will Christians experience dynamic passionate worship.

Rutz hit the nail right on the head concerning jammed church schedules, boring worship serves and joyless Christianity. He rightly obverses that if biblical worship and fellowship do not happen during Sunday morning services, they will not happen at all. The greatest strength of this book was the appendix. It was there that he left his irreverent humor behind and made his most effective case for open worship to affect world evangelism.

The Shack     When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fertilize the result is a novel on the order of "The Shack." This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" did for his. It's that good! --Eugene Peterson, Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent College, Vancouver, B.C.

Finally! A guy-meets-God Novel that has literary integrity and spiritual daring. "The Shack" cuts through the cliches of both religion and bad writing to reveal something compelling and beautiful about life's integral dance with the Divine. This story reads like a prayer--like the best kind of prayer, filled with sweat and wonder and transparency and surprise. When I read it, I felt like I was fellowshipping with God. If you read one work of fiction this year, let this be it. --Mike Morrell, zoecarnate.com

"The Shack" is a one of a kind invitation to journey to the very heart of God. Through my tears and cheers, I have been indeed transformed by the tender mercy with which William Paul Young opened the veil that too often separated me from God and from myself. With every page, the complicated do's and don't that distort a relationship into a religion were washed away as I understood Father, Son and Holy Spirit for the first time in my life. --Patrick M. Roddy, ABC News Emmy Award winning producer

Surrender to the Spirit: The Limitless Possibilities of Yielding to the Holy Spirit  By Keith Miller.  This book was amazing! Embracing the Holy Spirit in our lives and walking in His enabling power through submission is an amazing process and critical to the life of every Christian. God has called us, human beings, to be ambassadors for Christ to this world and bring to it His love, power, and glory. We cannot do that on our own, and when we try, we mess up royally. The great commission cannot be fulfilled without submission to the Holy Spirit which leads to His empowering in our daily lives to live it out. Great book for every Christian and any believer wishing to be free from the religious spirit.
