This Blog Will Come to an End... (Most Likely)

As implied in my previous posting, this blog will be coming to an end... well, will most likely be coming to an end. I don’t regularly post here as often as I should as I post more to my blogs at arttrap.com and on gallifreyanembassy.org (podshock.net).

Since my last post, Apple has officially announced that their MobileMe services will come to end on June 30, 2012. Their new iCloud services are replacing MobileMe. Unfortunately, the new iCloud services does not include web hosting, so this site won’t be transferred to iCloud like other MobileMe services.

Most likely I will archive this site on arttrap.com. It should work just the same there, though it does mean that all outside links to this site will be broken once it is moved. No biggie, as I don’t suspect there are many out there. Once it is archived on arttrap.com, there is no reason why I couldn’t continue it there. So that is a possibility. I’ll have to ponder that for a bit. Though the end of MobileMe could be just the excuse I was looking for to officially end this blog here. Who knows what I will do... but I don’t see myself posting more frequently here.

I’ve also been considering a separate blog from the arttrap.com site. Stay tuned for that, if that ever happens. If you have been reading this one here, (first, wow!) thanks. I will probably post a few more times before I am forced to move this site somewhere else (as I said above, most likely archive it at arttrap.com)

Is There AnyBody Out There?

My last entry on this blog site was August 2010... it is now June 2011. I obviously have not been posting much here to this site as I post more regularly to arttrap.com and podshock.net. In fact, I am considering taking my regular blog on arttrap.com and moving it to its own site. Well, I am considering it at least.

What about this one? This one was meant be a more personal blog site than anything else. I really haven’t had time for it much. I don’t even think I have an audience here. Perhaps I can pretend no one reads it and just post things here without tweeting it or letting anyone know it is here and see who actually notices it?

I wrote a similar entry to this one just last year as well called, Trapped on My Other Sites. I posted one other entry here since then (May 2010) not counting updates to my Project 365 (which had concluded December 2010).

Another reason I guess I don’t post to this site much is that I am using Apple’s iWeb software. While it is a fine piece of software, it is proprietary which means I can’t easily move it to another site or another Content Management Software (CMS). Although they have recently added the ability to add comments, originally it did not (that is why that feature is missing here).

We shall see what comes about with this site. Until then, I will have to assume that I am the only one that visits this site unless you tell me otherwise.

Stay OFF Target

As we celebrate the equal rights victory with today’s ruling calling California’s Proposition 8 unconstitutional, I am reminded that there are still those out there steadfast in trying to strip others of their equality. Such is evident with the recent movement to boycott TARGET for funding conservative and reported anti-gay candidate Tom Emmer for MN governor. TARGET has donated $150,000 to a group backing his campaign. It looks like we will have to break this tradition of stopping by at TARGET when arriving in Los Angeles for Doctor Who: Podshock’s annual live show at Gallifrey One now.

Granted, I am not a big TARGET costumer. In fact, the only time I find myself in one is when we stop at this TARGET in LA (pictured above). Though there are some in NY. I believe the last time I was in one locally, was in 2005. Though TARGET is not the only name brand that has donated to this group, BEST BUY has donated $100,000 as well. That is a store I tend to use more than TARGET. I am disappointed in BEST BUY. Though I haven’t been to one since June, it looks like I will be steering away now.

Although Prop 8 has just been defeated in a court ruling, I am still disappointed in groups such as the Knights of Columbus that had supported Prop 8 to the tune of 1.25 million dollars! See my previous post: Pride and Shame.

Trapped on My Other Sites

Yikes... Here I go again. I haven’t posted to this blog since Halloween 2009. My other sites keep me far too busy to keep up with my blog here. Once again, I will try to keep up with this blog more often (no promises though). I maintain a blog on arttrap.com (see Louis Trapani’s Blog) and one on the Gallifreyan Embassy site (not to mention administrating and maintaining both sites, posting articles outside of blog entries, etc.). So you will find more frequent updates from me there.

What I have just added here are the photos from my Project 365 here... Well, my photos thus far, almost halfway through the project. With the exception of the first month, the were only hosted on my Facebook profile page. It’s just easier to update the photos here, so this is what I have done now.

Halloweens

Halloween has always been a fun holiday for me. If nothing else, it was a chance to be someone else for a day. For me, that usually meant something out of this world. When I was a toddler, sure it could had meant a clown, vampire, or some other Earthbound entity. Once I was of the age where I could create my own costumes, it meant off-world aliens, Jedi Knights, Starfleet members, and the like.

As much fun as Halloween has always been, I didn’t always dress up for it every year. Though I would like to have, mind you. If there wasn’t enough time to prepare something good, I rather not dress up as anything at all than do something last minute quick and easy. I also tried never to repeat myself either. Even though I did the Jedi thing twice, they were completely different (and spanned a great many years).

It seems in recent years, I haven’t been doing anything for Halloween. That is a shame. Again, it is not that I am not so much into it any more, I just don’t have the time I once had to put into these things. These days, I hardly have enough time to find a few hours to sleep. Not to mention, I don’t know what I would do now... outside of perhaps Jabba the Hutt.

So I thought I would share some Halloweens of yesterday here. It may not be complete, but it will give you some idea of the many faces of me on this holiday through the years.
