Creatively, Nino expresses himself through photography. His life long passion for photography began when he took his dad’s Pentax camera to his first ever rock concert of Genesis’ Trick of the tail” and he has been “shooting” ever since.
Rock concert photography [when cameras were still allowed - LOL] eventually transitioned to travel photography. At the age of 21 he married his passion for photography with his passion for travel and went to “find himself” while backpacking though Europe. A significant part of his self discovery was establishing an intimate relationship with his travelling companion – his “Pentax”.
Eventually Nino found the confidence to shoot his “favourite subject,” the female body, through fellow photographer Johan Sorenson. “Johan inspired me to trust myself and introduced me to the intimate world of nude photography”
Nino attributes a significant influence in his creative development to three people in his life: Didier Dorval, Louis Au, Johan Sorenson.
Outside photography, Nino is the father of two extraordinary girls, Madison and Elise, lives with the love of his life Tammy and has been managing his own financial planning practice for 18 years.
Nino is a Toronto native and is self taught in photography.
About this series: Fishnets
My intention for this series was to take a sexy subject & interpret it in a way that leaves people wondering. By shooting up close, body parts now become landscapes & the viewers mind is open to imagination. The tangle of legs combined with the webbed nature of the fishnet makes for a playful study of line & texture.
My thanks go out to my two subjects, Tammy & Lori, for sharing their legs with the world!
