What do you want out of life?
What do you want out of life?
“One of the most important questions I sometimes have each day is, ‘What do I want out of the rest of my life?’ ...do I want to continue to be what I am being, doing what I am doing, having what I am having? What do I want?
It comes down to just those 3 things: Be, Do, Have. The clearer I am on each of those elements, the faster I can make any decision on issues that come up in life. If I want to just BE happy for the rest of my life, I just have to have a happy attitude. It has nothing to do with having more money, as most people think. How do you know? Just look at people with millions of dollars. And, look at people with a lot less. Who is having more fun — smiling, laughing, and being with good friends? Does the amount of money really matter?
What DO you want to do? The thing to do is what you enjoy doing. If... If you were not paid to do it. That is the ultimate test. If you have to be paid to do it – to do it, then, perhaps you don’t enjoy it enough to do it if you weren’t paid to do it. It’s like a hobby. You do it because you want to do it. You don’t do it to make money, though, you can still make money doing it. If you do it because you love doing it with a passion, you got something that will drive you to look forward to doing it. Those who love doing what they do find that it is not work at all. It is play. And, you can get paid for playing. What fun!
Okay, finally, what do you want to HAVE? All you really need to be happy in life is a roof over your head, food in your stomach, and something you love to do. Anything after that is extra. You can have a tent or mansion for a home and be just as happy. Of course, it is based on your attitude. If you have enough food to eat, you can be happy, too. All you need is vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, and whole grain. You can live quite healthy on these alone. You don’t really have to dine at expensive restaurants, do you? What about having something you love to do. Just find what gets you excited. What turns you on. What you love reading about. That’s what you love to do. You will always gravitate toward what you love to do. A bookstore can help you on this. Try it.
Put all this together. Be. Do. Have. That’s what your life is about. What you select for YOU is what you want out of life. Your life. Not someone else’s life. Don’t compare your life with anyone else’s life. They have a different Be, Do, Have that is special to them. Discover and LIVE your Be, Do, Have. And, you’ll find greater peace and happiness in your life.”
