Cheryl Anderson, the 2006 National LPGA Teacher of the Year, is Director of Instruction at the Mike Bender Golf Academy at Timacuan G. & C.C. in Lake Mary, Florida.
In 2007, Golf Digest named her one of the Top 20 Teachers Under 40 in the United States. Anderson also is one of Golf for Women Magazine’s 50 Top Women Teachers in America, one of GOLF Magazine’s Top Teachers in the Northeastern United States and one of Golf Digest’s Best Teachers in New York. She was also named 2007 Metropolitan (NY) PGA Section Teacher of the Year while she was instructing at Wykagyl C.C. in New Rochelle, NY.
Besides her credentials as one of the game’s best teachers, Anderson is also one of the best woman club pro competitors ever. In 2004 she earned the Metropolitan PGA Section Women’s Player of the Year award for a record fifth consecutive season. She also was runner-up in the 2002 LPGA National Club Professional Championship and has competed in numerous LPGA Tour events over the past decade.

Cheryl’s first book (co-authored with Brian Crowell) is Teach Yourself Visually Golf and it landed on bookstore shelves in May. Wiley, one of America’s top publishing houses, is producing the book as part of its very successful Teach Yourself Visually series. Cheryl was honored in 2006 by being named the National LPGA Teacher of the Year. This is the highest teaching honor any of the LPGA’s 1,200 members can attain. Past recipients include Dr. Dede Owens, Peggy Kirk Bell, Lynn Marriott, Sandy LaBauve, Carol Preisinger and Gale Peterson.

The Metropolitan PGA Section (NY) honored Cheryl with their 2007 Teacher of the Year award. This prestigious award has been won by many world-class teachers including Harry Cooper, Darrell Kestner and Jim McLean.
