We recently purchased a home in Palm Desert thanks to the efforts of Lori Ebeling.
After going through a number of open houses, we met Lori in the fall of 2008 and were immediately impressed by her knowledge of the home she was selling and the broader market. We had specific ideas as to what we were looking for and with Lori’s local knowledge she narrowed our area of focus down very quickly. We looked at a number of properties, many of which were ideal, but chose to return to Canada and monitor the market through Lori.
We returned in May 2009 and found the perfect home for us. The challenge was that someone else discovered it at the same time and we were faced with a competitive bid situation. Lori’s tenacity, understanding of the bidding process and market knowledge gave us a competitive advantage and we successfully purchased our Palm Desert home.
It didn’t stop there though. Lori helped us through the entire closing process, provided us with local contacts for all services including making arrangements to meet us and made sure we were completely happy.
This lady understands the market, can get you up to speed very quickly from whatever level of knowledge you have. She knows when to walk away, knows when to run, and quite frankly, knows how to close ‘em when you find the perfect home for you.
The highest testament we can give to Lori is, not only is she a terrific business person, she is now a friend.

I met Lori through a happy coincidence and thank goodness I did. She turned out to be an absolute God send in our hunt for a vacation home in Palm Springs. There are many important things about Lori but the two that stood out for me were, firstly, that she actually listened to what I was telling her and didn't try and show me properties that I didn't want, and secondly that she was totally honest and up front about the properties we did look at. In this economy there are a lot of variables in the housing market and she has carefully researched each avenue and always had the right answers to each of our questions. And then on top of that, after we found the absolutely perfect property, she made the possibly complicated process of we Canadians buying a house outside of our country virtually seemless. She put us in touch with the right mortgage guy, the right insurance people, a great gardener and pool guy, and solved absolutely any problem we seemed to encounter quickly and efficiently. To say that she went over and above what I would have expected from a realtor would be an understatement. Lori is a 20 out of 10 individual and runs her business the same way.

Our home search was off to a great start when we decided to work with Lori. Just having moved to the area, we took a chance with a realtor that we found through an online search. We soon found out that the chance we took was one of the best decisions. Lori was armed with a long list of properties for to see. She took into considerations all of our concerns (budget, growing family, visiting extended family, move in ready, nice community). After finding our home and going under contract, Lori was still hard at work for us. She helped us line up the deal with our lenders and was following up with escrow so we closed both the loan and escrow with such an amazing speed. After hearing about the horrors and frustrations from other homebuyers, we were stroring up our patience. In the end, we did not need it, we had Lori on our side.
PS: she also had a list for after the home buying: painters, handymans, cable company, water company, power company and the best book of coupons ever! She's the best!
