  12. Bullet    * 2004 August - Teaching a workshop called "Palm Technology" for our districts Summer Institute.  This workshop will cover the basics of using Palm technology as related to an educational setting, K-12.

Bullet    * 2003 October - Our website has been included in a book called "Educational Websites for 21st Century Educational Leaders" by James Lerman.  His book "consists largely of access information and descriptions of outstanding websites that have been chosen for inclusion based on the quality of their content and design, as well as their relevance for educational leaders such as superintendents, principals, school board members, and the like."  Being the WHS Webmaster for the past 9 years with a bunch of great kids has been an honor.  Receiving this kind of recognition is icing on the cake.

  16. Bullet    * 2003 January- NSF - ITEST - STEM Grant Lead Participant. This is a 3 year National Science Foundation Grant that deals with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) teachers to bring students to a better understanding and utilization of technology in the classroom. It is part of the Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program with the NSF.RESULT:  not granted.

  17. Bullet    * 2002 September - One of 5 Nominees for a Lifetime Achievement Award in Technology from the Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance (GWATA). A huge honor! Still don't know who nominated me!

  18. Bullet    * 2002 April - Took group of 18 students to work with Leatherback Sea Turtles in Costa Rica during spring break. We focused on the mother turtles coming ashore and laying eggs that we would reclaim for future release.

  19. Bullet    * 2000 June - Took group of 18 students to work with Leatherback Sea Turtles in Costa Rica. Our group focused on research and releasing hatchlings.

  20. Bullet    * 2000 February - Participated in a Geographic Information Systems Curriculum Training (G.I.S.) in Everett sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

  21. Bullet    * 1999 - This year I focused on my science curriculum, the class I teach for the University of Washington, and our WHS web site. I'm sticking closer to home and doing my teaching via the web.

  22. Bullet    * 1998 October - Co-taught a 1 day workshop with Ron Brown on interfacing scientific probeware with the Apple eMate 300 to K-8 teachers. A follow-up session is planned for early January 1999.

  23. Bullet    * 1998 Sept/Oct - Taught 2 workshops for the "Reflections" grant group (see 1998 August) in Hoquiam and one in Grand Coulee (for Omak). The workshop included teaching the content from my UW class called: "Creating Web Based Materials in the Classroom". We also covered specific grant organizational materials.

Bullet    * 1998 August - Facilitated two - two day Internet and web design workshops for the University of Washington and two grants: "Endangered Species" involving the U of W, WSU, and about 7 different smaller eastern Washington school districts and "Reflections" involving the U of W , Omak and Hoquiam school districts.

    However the 80’s in Quincy were incredible!  The kids, parents and teachers I worked with in sports and the classroom are some of my best experiences in life.  I will never forget Insect “Bug” Collections, Science Club field trips, my awesome Football and Golf teams along with tons of other wonderful memories.  These folks are some of the best people on this earth!
