Welcome to Philosophy Farm

Philosophy Farm has relocated to East Asheville. The pictures on this site are from our time north of Mars Hill, in Laurel Valley, from 2000 through 2011. We are retrofitting the farm to a smaller scale, holding to our love of permaculture, biodynamics, and beauty. The animals have new and wonderful homes. So eventually we will have our new digs on this site.

Happy 2012 to everyone.

OVERVIEW

The Philosophy Farm cosmos is ever-ripening and expanding. We are a fiber farm, with angora goats, cotswald sheep, llama, horse, donkey and bees, with Krys spinning the lustrous fleece and knitting elegant wares. We produce succulent biodynamic food,  available in the area and served in local restaurants. We have dedicated several shrines which express the sanctity of this already sacred land, used by Cherokees for ceremony for who knows how many centuries. We house the Alan Chadwick Biodynamic Archive (you can learn more about him here:    ( www.alanchadwick.net ) and formed a publishing company, Logosophia, which produced our first book of lectures by Alan, Performance in the Garden: A Collection of Talks on Biodynamic French Intensive Horticulture, foreword by John Jeavons.

Please visit www.logosophiabooks.com , our store, where you can find our books, cd’s and dvd’s.

We are extremely happy to be selling our bags of amazing mixed greens at the French Broad Food Co-op in Asheville! Please support a great place.

Check out Philosophy Farm on the 2010 Farm Tour, by Asheville videographer Katie Brugger. We are the last four minutes of the seven minute high def video. Enjoy!
