Vande came to my family at four months of age.  What an incredibly sweet dog he was.  My children were very young at the time, just three and one years old.  Vande was never a typical puppy.  He was very calm and easy going around the kids and never destroyed things, except socks... they were a different matter.  Seems this trait is passed down from his Mom and Grandma.  Socks could not be left lying around or they would be devoured whole.

We purchased Vande to show.  I had never shown dogs before so this was a leap.  BethAnn from Mount Olympus Rottweilers was so generous in allowing Van to come to our home.  We hit the shows at 6 months of age and had a ball.  I remember his first point (from the 12 to 18 puppy class) and then the exciting major.  Being a novice I did not do Vande justice in the ring. I even had one judge let me know that.  He was hard for me to show because he was such a mama's boy.   He would much rather be out sniffing the grounds or laying in someone's lap.  I had a hard time finding that last major so off to BethAnn he went.  BethAnn finished him and took him out as a special for 3 months.  He achieved multiple group wins and placements and one all breed best in show.  I will always remember the day BethAnn called to let me know how that particular show went - "he took the breed... he went number one in the group... and... oh yah....best in show!!."  Thanks to Lester Cannon for handling him that incredible day.  And Beth I cant thank you enough for taking a chance on me and allowing us to have had Vande in our lives.  We miss him dearly.
