During his 16-year career, Albert George Fenley served on five destroyers: the Sicard, the Vesole, the Yosemite, the Walton and the Boyd. (He was on a transport, SS President Grant, briefly in 1942 on his way from San Francisco to Hawaii.) Although the destroyers have been decommissioned, they still exist in the virtual world of the Internet. Thanks to their websites, I have been able to establish communication with men who served with my father.
