BrainWave Therapy, also known as neurofeedback or EEG biofeedback, is simply biofeedback for the brain. Some people describe it as exercise for the brain; the brain strengthens specific brainwaves like a weightlifter lifts weights to strengthen specific muscles. Prominent brainwave activity correlates to various behavioral and emotional states such as daydreaming, feeling anxious, or acting impulsively.

If, for example, one is having a difficult time paying attention in class or at work, BrainWave Therapy teaches the brain to train itself to reduce the brainwave frequencies correlated with inattentiveness and to increase brainwave frequencies correlated with calm, alert attention.

With state-of-the-art computer technology, the brain is given real-time information on its own functioning, and, over time, is able to better regulate its own functioning. While many clients come in to improve one or two specific areas, neurofeedback training helps the entire brain work more efficiently and effectively, thus improving performance in many more domains.

Potential Benefits of BrainWave Therapy are:

       Increased concentration

Improved mood and sense of well-being

        Decreased hyperactivity

        Decreased agitation

        Increased mental flexibility

        Improved mental stamina

BrainWave Therapy has been shown to be helpful for improving functioning for people with numerous conditions including:

       Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

        Anxiety

        Depression

        Autism

Also, many people use neurofeedback to gain mental clarity and deal more effectively with day-to-day stress.

The first step to getting started and to learn more about neurofeedback is to call and set up a complimentary consultation and demonstration. We look forward to hearing from you!
