Tuesday was a little different for me, as I was selected to go up to the lab. It was nice since I cleaned pottery and relaxed in the shade all day, rather than baking in the sun, shoveling and pick axing all day. It was definitely a nice break from the hard work we were doing, though cleaning some of the bricks, tiles and pottery was not easy either. But it was definitely nice to give my skin a day off from burning. After work I finally was able to go do laundry, but had to leave before it was done to go to work on the show. I left Brok to take bring it back to the hotel for me, since there was more than enough time to finish it before dinner. Evidently I was wrong because I had no clean clothes waiting for me to come home to or to wear the next day. The guy at the Laundromat evidently closed early and told us we could come pick it up the next day. We were charged 25€ to store it for the evening. That was not fun. But at least I had fresh clothes by the end of the day on Wednesday. Rehearsal went well. The crew running the show found out I had experience in theater and put me to work doing a lot more than lighting. I now was working with a man named Francesco who speaks no English whatsoever to set up and break down two scenes before the crowd makes it to the next sight. That was definitely interesting, and I’m learning Italian quickly because of it. At the end of rehearsal they cracked a case of wine for everyone which was a nice treat. I got home around 1AM and went right to bed.
