Today we finished the last bits of yard work, just pulling weeds from around the trenches. I’m in trench C (Saggio C) which has a lot of walls/ruins. We started cleaning which wasn’t bad. It was cooler today which was nice. I found a bunch of tesserae of different colors like purple, blue, green and red. I really cannot wait to start excavating and uncover new things. During the middle of the day it started to rain hard so we had to cover the trenches with the plastic. Lunch was as normal but it was raining really hard outside. I went to the lab afterwards and washed pottery. It’s hard to distinguish what the pieces are and know what to wash and not wash but we made it through it. Haylee and I sang songs for entertainment. The rain made it really cold out which is weird because the whole time we’ve been here it’s been pretty warm. We got back a little later than the kids who went back to put the tent up. Andy told the other table the Scientology story tonight at dinner which is hilarious, everyone was laughing. He’s really quite a good speaker. I think a lot of us knew some info about it because of South Park but he knew a lot more detail which was interesting. Everyone is just hanging out tonight, pretty low key. I think we’re all kind of constantly tired. I wonder what the Dean of the College of Arts and Science from OU will be like, and if he’ll enjoy visiting our trenches. Well I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. Ciao!
