Class Objectives

Español 1

This course is designed to:

- provide a good working basis in oral and written Spanish

-enable students to read basic Spanish texts and authentic
-materials
-- create an interest in and admiration for the
- Spanish culture and civilization

Español 2

This course is designed to:

- develop listening and speaking skills in Spanish

- build knowledge in grammar and vocabulary for better speaking, writing, and reading techniques in Spanish

- further enhance interest in multi-cultural understanding

Honor Code:

*All work in my classes is subject to the stipulations in the Honor Code. Any infraction therein will result in a referral to the Honor Council.

*Use of electronic devices or on-line translations is a violation of the Honor Code. Only paperbound dictionaries are to be used.

Grading Policy

Grades are given as Total Points. Each grade will depend on length of assignment.

Homework will be given every day, and is worth a total of 100 points for the quarter. It will be checked and discussed in class every day. If a student fails to bring her homework to class, she will lose 5 points per assignment. She will begin the quarter with 100 points for homework and for each assignment she misses, she will lose 5 points.

Students are responsible for scheduling make-up work within the time allotted in the Student Handbook. Failure to schedule make-up work within the allotted time will result in a “0” for that assignment.
