The Airshow!!!

Yesterday, Samuel and I paid a visit to Corvin at the air-show in Altersdorf. The drive out there was absolutely beautiful! We drove through Corvin´s hometown, Glonn, which looks like the idyllic bavarian village one always imagines.
Silke dropped Samuel and I off at the air-show and went on to Rosenheim to visit with her parents. Immediately, when I got to the flight-line, I wished my dad and brother were with me. Corvin eventually found us and invited us into the flight-line to sit by his plane. People were staring at us enviously, as no one else was allowed to go behind the fence and look at/touch the planes. Samuel, of course, wanted to see them all, and got a chance to sit in every single one. By the end of the day, I was very comfortable at walking up to people and asking if Sam could sit in their airplanes for a little while. Some people were very relaxed about it while others watched him very carefully. :) He had a wonderful time, and was really good.
We also had a great time talking to some of the different airplane owners. It was also fun watching Corvin do some aerobatics! I was amazed! Samuel also enjoyed watching his dad fly! He kept trying to call out to him and wave as he flew by...it was really cute. It was also cute to see which airplanes made the biggest impact on him. By the end of the day, it was clear that his favorite was the “Russian airplane”, the biggest biplane in the world, which he sat in about 10 times over the course of the day. I was really glad he had so much fun.
Samuel and I did have a long day at the air-show, but it was wonderful! We were there till about 9:00, at which point we drove back to Munich in the pouring rain. I have to say, I had a lot more fun than I was expecting too. :)
