An Afternoon on the Isar

This afternoon, after naptime, we headed down the Autobahn to spend an afternoon on the Isar. It was such a lovely, beautiful drive, and I would love to go back there again sometime this year. Samuel was thrilled to have a chance to play a bit in the water and I enjoyed skipping rocks. :) My record this time was 4! It was exciting.
It´s always interesting to spend time on the Isar, because so many different people are there: Classy people, drinking wine under expensive umbrellas, naked people lying out and playing in the water, families having barbeques, and artistic types with notepads. Depending on the time of year, you can usally also find all manner of students there, relaxing and reading on the banks. It´s a lovely, quiet place to go, and while the Isar flows through Munich and provides many areas to swim and lie out, this is definitely the most beautiful. It takes a while to get there, but it´s definitely worth the drive. I just wouldn´t reccommend bringing a stroller...it´s quite a bumpy walk to the beach! :)
