Mojo’s Vini Vidi Vici

A bit about me:  I’m a hunter foremost, and I’ve been a Weimaraner fancier for 20 years now. In my opinion the best lines in France are those of Daniel Schmitz with his kennel name of “ la mare aux démons,” which was continued by Mr. Jounet and his kennel name of  "des Ombres des 4 Nuits".

Having acquired a bitch out of this line in 2000 (ChR99 Innsbruck x ChR98 Lorette des Ombres des 4 Nuits), I started looking for a male for her. I soon realized that all the males that I liked came from her same lines.

In the beginning of 2004, I came into contact with another Weim fancier, Canadien hunter, and professional photographer, Craig Koshyk who was in the process of writing a book on continental dogs. This is where our story begins.

After much discussion about our dogs and Weimaraners in general and clearly defining what I was looking for, he directed me, without hesitation, to Debra and Myron Meifert of Westend Kennels, in Oregon. He considered them to have the top American Field Trial dogs for several generations now. Unfortunately, the Meiferts didn’t have any current or pending litters. They put me in touch with Allison Jo Falk in Washington (kennel name: Mojo’s) who would be breeding her bitch with their great trial champion, Gus. After several months of correspondence discussing the characteristics of the parents and then the puppies, I reserved a male who would become  “Mojo’s Vini Vidi Vici.”

After 4 months of administrative red tape and a 16 hour flight in his crate, he landed in Paris on September 13, 2004. A 3 1/2 hour car drive later he arrived at his new home full of energy!

After exposure to training birds and hunting exercises, he pointed his first Wood Cock at 7 months and a second a few days later - now his drive had shifted into a higher gear!

Our greatest hopes are finally unfolding.
