WHAT'S ON: Leone has two new publications due. The first, Love Silk Food, is a short story shortlisted for the V.S Pritchett Award in the UK, 2008. It will be published in the Black British edition of WASAFIRI magazine in September 2009. The second is a story she wrote in an hour, called When The River. It’s a piece of erotica and will be out March 2010, in Making The Hook Up, Cleis Press, editor Cole Riley. STOP PRESS (27/8/09): Leone has just finished the first draft of her third novel, The Inevitability of Stroooops. It is 202, 223 words long - nearly three times as long as Orange Laughter. It’s taken three years to finish, and she wrote the last 47,000 words this week. She will now put it down to ‘bake’ for two weeks and come back to do a final, month-long edit.
SITE NEWS : Apologies for the absence of promised Blog, which would have followed Leone as she finished Stroooops. Leone’s as-yet-diagnosed hand pain continues to be a challenge - but she promises that at some point she will at least write about the creative and semantic challenges of voice recognition software.
