Some of you who have been reading along here read my public service announcement to backup important data. How superior I felt as I wrote that, know I had recently backed up my photos, my music, my plans for the Hermitage, and so forth.

Imagine my sadness when yesterday morning I pushed the powerbutton on my faithful PowerBook G4, and nothing happened. But imagine my happiness that I had recently backed up everything. Um, or so I thought.

It turns out that the software I use to create this very blog stores its working files in an unexpected place (~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.site ) that I didn’t back-up.

I’ve spent the better part of the last two days recreating the site. I’m sadder, yet wiser, for the experience.

I’ve also added a page for the GPS stuff that I’m having fun with.

And a new MacBook is on its way.
