Welcome to Always PBGVs

Always PBGVs is a home-based breeding program devoted to producing happy, healthy PBGVs. Our goal is to breed for both good, sweet-tempered dispositions AND for proper type conforming to the physical attributes described by the official AKC PBGV standard. Although we are new to the PBGV world, our girls come from a long line of Dehra champions including Dehra Querelle, Dehra Yo Yo, Dehra Urio and Pepperhill Dehra Charmaine. Always PBGVs is located in the Houston, Texas area.

Our fascination with Petits Bassets Griffons Vendeens began while watching a dog show and seeing the gorgeous Fairchild in action. Like most people, we had never heard of the little French hounds but the more we learned the more we were convinced a petit was perfect for us. Luckily we met an enthusiast and breeder, Julie Shannon of JUS PBGVs, who invited us to watch her dogs in action hunting rabbits (a common winter pastime for her and her pack of hounds)...and the rest is history. We had our first PBGV, Truffle, six days later.

Almost one year later, we added to the family getting Truffle a little sister we named Cricket. Cricket has added a newfound joy to our lives and to Truffle’s life as she constantly has a friend to play, hunt and explore with her. They are inseparable spending countless hours in the back yard harassing all the local toads, frogs and lizards.

We are just beginning our PBGV legacy and will probably not be breeding Truffle or Cricket until next Fall. Please check back often for monthly updates and additions to the photo albums. If you think you might be interested in having your own PBGV, use the links to the left for some insight and research and contact me at alwayspbgv@aol.com. We can add you to a waiting list or recommend a breeder who does have puppies at the time.mailto:alwayspbgv@aol.comshapeimage_3_link_0
